Community Day 2018

Thanks to all who joined us for our second annual Community Day! All photos by Daniel Michael.

Remembering a Brother

On the balmy Sunday afternoon of September 10, 2017, several dozen people stood along the bank of Mill Creek and sang as five men walked down to the water. Three men knelt, one man poured and one man prayed as heaven rejoiced. Little did we know then that one of those brothers receiving Christian baptism, Julio, would succumb to a heart attack three months later. Word of Grace was privileged to know Julio for the last half year of his life, and privileged to host a memorial service and fellowship meal that allowed us to get to know his family and his roommate. It was a blessed time of worship, remembrance and closure.

Grateful for a Pleasant Outdoor Service

It was great to have our first-ever outdoor service at the farm on Eckman Road the morning of July 23. Beautiful weather meant worshiping the Lord in the midst of His creation all around us, and many hands whipped up some wonderful food for the fellowship meal. During the sermon time children enjoyed a (totally safe) lesson with a bow and arrows illustrating a biblical account involving David and Jonathan.

Community Day 2017

All the hard work of preparation was worth the effort for a wonderful Community Day, complete with delicious food, adventuresome activities and warm fellowship. Thanks to all who came out and took part and helped with everything! You can see some snapshots of the day in the slideshow below.
